India have won 9 matches and the Proteas have emerged victorious in 6 matches so far. Rising fast bowlers Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh who impressed with their respective performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 have been named in the India squad, for the T20I series, which will be be led by KL Rahul while star batters Virat KohliJasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma have been rested from the series.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has allowed Cricket South Africa (CSA) to determine their players better and pick up a strong squad for the five-Twenty20 International (T20I) series against India, starting from June 9. Mumbai Indians youngster Tristan Stubbs has received his maiden Proteas call-up ahead of the highly anticipated contest while Temba Bavuma’s Proteas T20 squad will make a return to international cricket for the first time since the ICC T20 World Cup in late 2021.
