IPL began its journey in 2008, and has witnessed the participation of numerous cricketing legends over the years. Amidst the ever-evolving landscape of the tournament, a remarkable group of players have remained constants in the team since its inception, taking the field in every season without fail.

Here’s a look at the five players who have played at least one match in all 16 seasons of the IPL

MS Dhoni:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni led the Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural IPL season. Despite reaching the finals, CSK faced defeat against Shane Warne’s Rajasthan Royals. Dhoni continued to be the linchpin of CSK’s squad, steering them to five IPL titles. Notably, he briefly played for Rising Pune Supergiants for two seasons before returning to CSK.

Virat Kohli:

Virat Kohli synonymous with Royal Challengers Bangalore, has been a mainstay in the IPL since its inception. Kohli’s unwavering loyalty to RCB has seen him amass an impressive record, featuring in 237 matches and scoring 7263 runs at an average of 37.25 and a striking rate of 130.02.

Dinesh Karthik:

Dinesh Karthik commenced his IPL journey with Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in 2008. Since then, he has graced the tournament for 16 consecutive seasons, representing various teams such as Punjab, Delhi, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. With 242 matches under his belt, Karthik has accumulated 4516 runs in the IPL.

Shikhar Dhawan:

Shikhar Dhawan began his IPL voyage with Mumbai Indians in 2008 before moving on to Delhi Capitals and later Sunrisers Hyderabad. Currently leading Punjab Kings, Dhawan’s consistency has been his hallmark, amassing 6616 runs in 217 IPL matches at an average of 35.19 and a striking rate of 127.16.

Rohit Sharma:

Rohit Sharma, IPL’s quintessential captain, made his debut with Deccan Chargers Hyderabad in 2008 before transitioning to Mumbai Indians in 2011. Under his leadership, Mumbai Indians clinched the IPL title five times. With 6211 runs in 243 IPL matches at an average of 29.58 and a striking rate of 130.05, Sharma remains a pivotal figure in the league.
