Australia will tour Sri Lanka for a full series starting from Tuesday. The full tour includes three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Test matches. The tour was in doubt for a long time due to political tension in the island nation due to their economic crisis but with the situation stabilizing in the recent time, Australia decided to visit the country.
Sri Lanka had toured Australia for a 5 match T20I series which they lost, earlier this year. Australia are the fifth in the T20 rankings while Sri Lanka are at the ninth spot. It will be the first tour of Australia to Sri Lanka since 2016. The shortest format of the long tour will be important as it will act as a dress rehearsal of the 2022 T20 World Cup in October.
