He made his Test debut on 6th January 2018 vs South Africa. He made his ODI debut on 23rd January 2016 vs Australia whereas his T20I debut came on 26th January 2016 vs Australia as well.
Bumrah plays first-class cricket for Gujarat where he made his debut against Vidarbha in October 2013 during the 2013–14 season as well. A right-arm fast-medium speedster with an unusual bowling action, Bumrah had made his T20 debut against Maharashtra in the 2012–13 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and also helped his team win the title and received the Man of the Match award as well. His figures of 3/14 were helped Gujarat to win over Punjab in the final.
A young Bumrah made headlines in his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut too, where he finished with figures of 3/32 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Though he played just a couple of games in the Pepsi IPL 2013 for Mumbai Indians, Mumbai Indians management has retained him for the next season too. Moreover, on 11th December 2020, he scored his maiden first-class half-century (55*) against Australia A during the India tour of Australia as well. And, he is one of the key players of Mumbai in the IPL.
However, during the two matches, the T20I series against West Indies in August 2016, he became the bowler to claim most wickets (28) in T20 Internationals in one calendar year surpassing Dirk Nannes. In January 2017, in the second match of the T20I series of England's 2016–17 India tour, he scalped two wickets conceding 20 runs and was awarded the Player of the Match. During the 2017 Sri Lanka tour, he picked up the most wickets (15) taken by any fast bowler in a bilateral ODI series of five or fewer matches.
In November 2017, he was added to India's Test squad for the South Africa series. He made his Test debut for India against South Africa at Newlands in Cape Town on 5 January 2018 as well. Jasprit Bumrah got his maiden Test wicket as he removed AB de Villiers for 65 runs. In the 3rd Test Match of India Tour of South Africa 2017-18, at Johannesburg, Jasprit Bumrah picked up his maiden fifer in Tests, with figures of 5/54 from 18.5 overs as well.

On the Boxing Day Test of India Tour of Australia 2018, with his career-best bowling figures of 6/33, Bumrah became the first Asian bowler to pick up five-wicket hauls in Australia, England and South Africa in the same calendar year.
However, he had finished the series as the leading wicket-taker, with 21 wickets. He had finished the year, with 48 wickets, which was a record for an Indian bowler in his debut year in the longer format as well. On 6th July 2019, against Sri Lanka, he took his 100th wicket in ODIs and became the second-fastest Indian to do so after Mohammed Shami, who is currently the fastest Indian bowler to reach 100 ODI wickets.
Meanwhile, he finished the tournament as the highest wicket-taker for India and the fifth-highest overall, with eighteen dismissals in nine matches as well. In August 2019, Jasprit Bumrah took his fourth Test five-wicket haul against West Indies, with figures of 5/7 in the 2nd innings. And, in the second Test match, he became the third Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in a Test match as well.
