The Diamond League 2023 in Rabat is scheduled to take place on May 28, 2023, at the Meeting International Mohammed VI d’Athletisme de Rabat in Morocco. This will be the second leg of the Diamond League, where athletes will be competing for points. The men’s 100m field is filled with a star-studded lineup with World Championships champion Fred Kerley, Commonwealth Games 2022 gold medalist Ferdinand Omanyala, two-time World championship medalist Trayvon Bromell, and second-fastest runner in the 200m, Yohan Blake set to challenge each other in an epic battle.

World champion Grant Holloway will face Olympic champion Hansle Parchment in an anticipated 110m hurdles showdown. Despite Holloway leading their personal duel with four wins to one, Parchment’s lone victory came at the most prestigious stage of the Olympic Games. In discus throw, Slovenia’s world champion Ceh aims to extend his Diamond League winning streak to seven. Following five victories in 2022, he started 2023 by setting a meeting record of 70.89m in Doha.

Another noteworthy event is the men’s 1500m, featuring Yared Nuguse, Oliver Hoare, who will face a challenge from the formidable Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen. Ingebrigtsen, the holder of the world 5000m gold and 1500m silver, is touted as the athlete to beat this outdoor season. However, Nuguse of the USA will be coming off a string of impressive indoor records in the 1500m, mile, and 3000m earlier this year.

Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay, the world indoor 1500m record-holder, is set to make her outdoor season debut. The talented athlete clocked 4:16.16 for the mile and 8:16.69 for the 3000m indoors in February. In the high jump, Ukraine’s world indoor champion in 2022, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, is set to compete. She’s already broken the two-meter mark this season in Nairobi and will face her compatriots Iryna Gerashchenko and Yuliya Levchenko, two more accomplished athletes.
