WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has placed his bid on RAW superstar Austin Theory to become the next face of the company. The two-time World Champion drew the conclusion on the basis of Theory’s growth and his storyline with Vince McMahon. It should be noted that the WWE Chairman has worked with Theory in the last few months and also motivated him which has helped the duo create a special bond among themselves. Moreover, it is also believed that the apprentice could be the next master for the company.

Henry, however, believes that the 24-year-old can be groomed further for the role as he is young and has ambitions to be great besides listening to his seniors to learn the ropes from them.

“I was torn and I ended up with Austin Theory because he’s doing something that very few wrestlers get to do, i.e. play Robin to Batman, which is playing Robin to Vince McMahon. Austin (Stone Cold) did it, The Rock did it, Mankind did it, and you go down the list of guys that had serious interactions with Vince, those storylines with Vince: who did they become? The face of the company, ‘The Guy.’,” Henry said on Busted Open Radio.

“Austin Theory is on that trajectory. He’s young, he can be groomed, he listens, he wants to be great, and he realizes the position is that he is in, and he’s doing what he’s told and he’ll be a star,” he added.

Theory had participated in a tryout for WWE in February, 2018. He retained his WWN Championship by defeating Marcel Barthel  at the WrestleMania Axxess in April.

The American had officially signed a contract with WWE in August, 2019. His debut came against Roderick Strong for the NXT North American Championship but he failed to win the title.

He was drafted to RAW in 2021. Theory was put into the WWE Royal Rumble match by Vince Mcmahon. It came after the chairman was infuriated by Theory’s behaviour to take away Cleopatra’s Egg from him. But then resolved the issue and offered him a WWE Championship match against Big E in the main event, which he failed to make the most of.

However, before WWE, he participated in several promotions under the World Wrestling Network umbrella, such as Full Impact Pro (FIP) and Evolve – along the way winning the WWN Championship, FIP World Heavyweight Championship and the Evolve Championship.
