Rey Mysterio a.k.a Oscar Gutiérrez Rubio is a Mexican-American professional wrestler who was born on December 11, 1974. He is presently contracted to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and works for the Raw brand. Gutiérrez was coached by his uncle Rey Misterio, Sr., and began wrestling in Mexico at a young age, where he mastered the Lucha Libre high-flying technique that has since become his signature.
During his stint in WCW in the late 1990s, Mysterio is recognised for his high-flying style, which helped kick-start the cruiserweight wrestling revolution in the United States. Mysterio won five WCW World Cruiserweight Championships, three WCW World Tag Team Championships, and one WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship in WCW.
