WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has insisted that it will be befitting for the legendary Rey Mysterio to have a retirement match against his son Dominik. Mysterio and his son are yet to face each other in a singles match and Booker T believes that there will be no better occasion for the father-son duo to come up against each other. Dominik made his WWE debut at SummerSlam in 2020 against Seth Rollins. He has grown quite consistently since then to become a star of the company following the path charted by his father.

“I can’t buy a series of matches, but one match – and that might be the match where ‘you beat me, I’ll retire.’ And that might be the match he want to be retired with. Can you imagine that? Can you think about that for one moment? You don’t think that’s good? When somebody poses a question like that I’m going to look at it (like) ‘what can we get out of this?,” Booker T said in Hall of Fame podcast.

The WWE Hall of Famer also believes that Mysterio will not be able to continue forever and thus the WrestleMania will be the best stage for him to face his son and handover him over the family legacy.
“Rey is not going to be able to do it forever. There’s going to be a time when he wants to put it down and let his son keep the legacy going. We don’t know if that’s at April (at WrestleMania),” said Booker T.

Booker T has been largely vocal about his opinion around the company and its former stars. He had taken a dig on former WWE star Hulk Hogan for his post on Facebook which drew some brickbats on social media. Hogan had spoken negatively about the Covid-19 vaccine and alleged that actors Betty White and Sidney Poitier died after getting their doses.

The post naturally didn’t go down well as Booker T highlighted that Hogan should refrain from speaking about something that he doesn’t have complete idea about. He also asked one and all to pull him back if they ever find him in such a situation.

“It’s amazing some of the stuff people say when they just don’t know. I really don’t have a whole lot of respect for someone saying something like that, especially when they have no idea what happened to this person or not. Just what we are in the world today. Dammit, it could just be getting old,” Booker T said.
“If you ever find me in that place where I’m saying something stupid and radical, please, I beg you to pull me back because I think that’s got a lot to do with a lot of these old guys going out and saying a lot of stupid stuff. I really do,” he added.
