“Stone Cold” Steve Austin talked about why Cody losing at WrestleMania was right for business

Steve Austin appeared at Busted Open Radio and talked about Cody losing at WrestleMania. He said it was the right decision that they made.

Austin praised Cody Rhodes for competing in WWE main events even after getting injured. Steve was all praise for Cody for his dedication and willpower but now is not the right time for American Nightmare to win against “The Big Guy” Roman Reigns.

Austin continued, “Anyway, he gets injured. He blows out a pec. He competes in the Royal Rumble. Now he comes back and he gets in the main event with Roman. I just think it was so storybook. It would have been so cliche to put the belt on him. Has he earned the opportunity to be there? Yeah, but would he have been the right guy, right now, trying to take out Roman Reigns? I just think not.

Steve Austin also praised Roman Reigns saying he is one of the best in business right now and Cody will surely get there soon if he continues what he has been doing recently.

“Roman is so fire and is so money right now. Cody is going to be there. To me, it made me respect Cody more when you’re laying down there looking at the lights and you know that story is going to be completed one of these days, but it ain’t gonna be right here and it was for the right reasons, and the reasons were business.” Listen to the whole podcast from Busted Open Radio h/t WrestlingNews.co

Cody Rhodes returns to WWE

Cody Rhodes left WWE due to some personal reasons but he later joined AEW in 2019. He won AEW TNT Championship 3 times during his time at AEW. Cody left AEW to return to WWE in 2022 and his first appearance after joining WWE was at WWE WrestleMania where he was revealed as a surprise opponent for Seth Rollins, Cody made his return to WWE after 6 years and defeated Seth Rollins. Cody suffered a pectoral muscle tear on Raw. After recovering from a pectoral muscle tear he returned to WWE at Royal Rumble and won the Royal Rumble, he won by eliminating Gunther who entered as the #1 participant in Royal Rumble. WWE made the perfect decision by not allowing Cody Rhodes to win at WrestleMania 39. As many fans would have hated WWE because he just joined the WWE roster in 2022 and won the WWE Undisputed Championship. We think it was the right decision. What are your views on this?
