Roman Reigns is on the brink of a 1,000-day reign following his surprise victory at WrestleMania 39. He still needs to hold on to the championship for 40 days more to reach that incredible milestone.

Reigns’ 1,000th day with the Universal Championship turns out to be in line with Night of Champions. although that is definitely a coincidence, Reigns would have been retained as Universal Champion at least until May 27 the moment someone in a position of power realized that would be the case. WWE may have months’ worth of plans, but it isn’t that prepared.

The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is on the verge of creating history by nearing 1000 days while holding the WWE Universal Champion title. WWE Hall of Famer Kavin Nash talked about Roman Reigns in the latest episode of Kliq This podcast. Kavin Nash said, “That close to 1,000 you have to. It would be like if Ripken had turf toe and had taken a day off. There are certain milestones and now he’s close to 1,000. You’re only gonna be as successful as your f***ing top guy, and Roman’s the top guy right now. Roman has the cool factor. Roman’s your money guy.”

Nash made a point that his title run would have been legendary had he received some help. “They did it with me and Bret. If I would have beaten Bret out of the shoot, I think absolutely Diesel has a much better fing run. But the fact that they wouldn’t commit and put the fing eggs in the basket, I think that it hurt me, and I think that they weren’t ready to make that commitment. Things had gone too well,” said the WWE Hall of Famer Kavin Nash.

During the course of Roman Reigns’ nearing 1000-days as champion, he had some magnificent matches with various other wrestlers, some of the fights are worth mentioning like SummerSlam match with Brock Lesnar, Hell in a Cell with Jay Uso, Elimination Chamber with Sami Zayn and the WrestleMania 39 main event with Cody Rhodes.
