During the past year or two, WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER has been on a run, displacing everyone who stands in his way. Yet there might be one huge superstar who can put him to the test in the most difficult way possible. During the men’s Royal Rumble battle this year, GUNTHER and Brock Lesnar had a brief confrontation. During that time, GUNTHER only managed to land one chop and a few knees to Lesnar’s midsection before “The Beast Incarnate” successfully suplexed him overhead.

‘It was a super exciting moment for me’

GUNTHER asserted that the brief conversation with Lesnar proved that there is public interest in that bout during an appearance on WWE’s “The Bump” “It was a super exciting moment for me,” GUNTHER said. “So, obviously, Brock, as a competitor, I was always impressed with. I said it before: people call me kind of like the end boss in situations, but Brock might be my personal end boss. I think that moment we had was all I needed out of it right now. Basically, real-life confirmation that the audience is up for that.”

A fan of Lesnar

The “WWE SmackDown” star added that while maintaining his Intercontinental Championship reign is his current priority, a match with Lesnar is something he plans to pursue in the future. It shouldn’t be shocking that GUNTHER wants to wrestle alongside Lesnar in the same ring. When Lesnar initially entered the wrestling industry, he was a fan, he claimed in a recent appearance on the “Battleground Podcast.” He declared at the moment that he would gladly accept the challenge to compete against Lesnar and prove himself in the ring.

‘end boss’

Gunther talked about his encounter with Brock Lesnar on the After the Bell podcast. Lesnar, according to Gunther, is his “end boss.” Gunther said in the podcast that the brief encounter and conversation with Brock Lesnar provided the only real-world confirmation he needed. Gunther continues by saying that Brock Lesnar will be his “end boss” if he is perceived as a boss character by others.

Cody Rhodes challenges Gunther

The American Nightmare’s matchup with the Intercontinental Champion Gunther was one of many intriguing matches in the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble. These two WWE Superstars each appeared as a guest on different editions of the podcast After The Bell. The first person to express a desire for a face-to-face encounter with Intercontinental Champion Gunther in Europe was Cody Rhodes.

Cody Rhodes issued a challenge for a match, and Intercontinental Champion Gunther accepted. According to Gunther, a union with Cody will be ideal for him. “I think the match is right there whenever it needs to happen, if it will happen in Europe, obviously, it will be fantastic”. Said Gunther.
