The RAW Women’s Championship contest between Piper Niven and Becky Lynch at the 2017 WWE Royal Rumble has been discussed in detail. Due to the pyro that went out when Ronda Rousey won the 30-woman Rumble match, the WrestleMania sign caught fire during the match. This was Piper’s first world title bout against an opponent alone at a high-end live event. But, she was unable to obtain the gold since The Man triumphed against her.

Piper Niven remarked in an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful that sharing the ring with Becky Lynch was fantastic and that she would love to face her again. She also remembered the former RAW Women’s Champion informing her about the burning WrestleMania sign.

“Getting to wrestle Becky was great. I’ll probably get to do it again. I remember being in the ring, Becky’s cranking this headlock in on me, and remember hearing her say, ‘The sign is on fire.’ At first, I thought she said, ‘We’re on fire,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, Becks, we’re on fire.’ Then she’s like, ‘No, no, no. The sign is on fire.’ I go, ‘What?’ ‘The sign is on fire.’ ‘Oh, okay. Guess we’re just rolling with this one,'” said Niven.

On WWE Candice LeRae will battle Piper Niven. As, Piper Niven confronted Mia Yim and Candice LeRae backstage after Carmella won the Fatal 4-Way Elimination Chamber Qualification Match, threatening both contestants. Niven overcame Yim last week and has now turned her focus to LeRae, who has been coping with Nikki Cross’ harassment.

Doudrop name was dropped on her return to WWE at the Royal Rumble 2023

Piper Niven debuted her Doudrop moniker in WWE at the Royal Rumble in 2023. This may be a wise decision for the celebrity because the name has a negative connotation. Doudop, according to Urban Dictionary, can refer to a woman who is attracted to other women. The phrase can also refer to someone who is overweight. The moniker was possibly chosen to “make fun” of the WWE star.

Piper Niven admitted in an interview with Give Me Sport that she was apprehensive at first, but she went forward with it nonetheless. As it turns out, she believes the name’s bad meaning aided her success.

“They were like ‘Your name is gonna Doudrop’ and I was kinda like ‘Okay…sure. (hesitant)’ But honestly, I get it…I kind of like it because it was like taking a negative and turning it into a positive, and I feel like that’s very on brand for me, you know? People in the past in my career have always like kind of maybe made jokes my size, and said ‘you can’t do this, you can’t do that’, but really I’m here now succeeding because of those negatives.”

Niven joined WWE as part of the NXT UK brand in 2019. She made her major roster debut in 2021 as Eva Marie’s protégé. She stayed with the moniker Doudrop after a singles career and even challenged Becky Lynch for the RAW Women’s Title. Piper Niven returned to the Women’s Royal Rumble as entry number 18 after a brief break due to health difficulties.
