On tonight’s WWE Raw (August 7), a backstage exchange between two rival factions promised a fresh romance plotline. The next in line for Gunther is Chad Gable, who defeated Ricochet, Matt Riddle, and Tommaso Ciampa in a four-way match to decide the next top contender for the Intercontinental Championship. Ludwig Kaiser, a fellow Imperium member of Gunther, then showed up at Chad Gable’s Alpha Academy locker room to speak with Maxxine Dupri, the Alpha Academy Queen. Maxxine was informed by Ludwig Kaiser that he had been watching her for a few weeks and was given a complement with a proviso.
Although she exhibits promise, he advised her to leave Alpha Academy because she wouldn’t succeed among undesirables like Otis. when Maxxine slapped Kaiser across the face in response to his comments. Kaiser turned around to confront Otis after demonstrating that he was unconcerned and, in fact, appeared to be even more curious.
As she seems adamant about sticking with Otis, it doesn’t seem like the Kaiser/Dupri relationship will continue very long and is more likely to serve as a setup for tonight’s Kaiser vs. Otis match. Kaiser prevailed in the fight, and Gable returned to the field to intervene when Imperium tried to keep attacking Otis the postman.

Of course, when it comes to actual relationships, Kaiser is engaged to NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, who is a close friend of Dupri in real life. Anthony Luke, Dupri’s boyfriend in real life, participated in the WWE tryouts during the SummerSlam week.
The night’s main event, a six-man tag match between Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, and Sami Zayn versus the Judgement Day’s Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and Dominik Mysterio, began with a promo sequence on other episodes of WWE Raw.
