The most renowned championship in history is the WWE Championship, even though very few wrestlers have ever held it for a long period of time.

Buddy Rogers was the first ever wrestler to be crowned as the inaugural WWE Champion. Even after 40 decades later, only 40 wrestlers or more have held the WWE Championship. Obviously, not every wrestler is given an opportunity to win the WWE Championship, but those who have held the title performed numerous kinds of jobs to be champions.

Being a WWE Champion takes a lot of responsibility, and some of the greatest wrestlers in history haven’t held the title for more than a year. Some of the greatest WWE Champions of all time, including Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, and Triple H, never lasted 300 days as the titleholder. However, those who held the WWE Championship for more than 300 days performed outstandingly in their capacity as WWE Champions and we will be discussing some of the WWE Legends who held the title for a long time.

Roman Reigns

Reigns come from the Anoa’i family, a well-known wrestling family. He is linked to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Yokozuna, and other well-known wrestlers. His father, Sika Anoa’i, was a member of the legendary tag team The Wild Samoans. Roman Reigns has won the WWE Championship four times and the WWE Universal Championship twice, making him a six-time World champion in the company. Roman Reigns has won the 2015 Royal Rumble, the 2014 Superstar of the Year, the WWE United States Championship, the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and the WWE Tag Team Championship once each.

Pedro Morales

Pedro, a professional wrestler from Puerto Rico who was born on October 22, 1942, had a successful wrestling career. His involvement with the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF), which later changed its name to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), and finally known as WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) is what most people remember him for. When Morales defeated Ivan Koloff to win the WWWF World Heavyweight Championship in 1971, Pedro accomplished a huge milestone. He became the first Puerto Rico wrestler to win the renowned championship as a result of his triumph, and he retained the title for nearly three years.

Hulk is an American professional wrestler, actor, and television personality. Born on August 11, 1953, Hogan is one of the most recognizable and iconic figures in the history of professional wrestling. Hogan rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s when he became the face of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) at the height of the sport’s popularity. Hogan, who was well-known for his magnetic personality, physically fit body, and unique moves like the leg drop, helped make professional wrestling more well-known to the general public.

Bob Backlund

In the late 1970s, Backlund started his professional wrestling career, and he quickly became well-known. He displayed an intense, controlled attitude in addition to having great technical wrestling talents. Backlund’s image was recognized for being an “All-American” aspect, strong moral principles, and a clean appearance. When Bob Backlund defeated Superstar Billy Graham to win the WWF World Heavyweight Championship in 1978, it was his biggest achievement. Backlund’s reign was one of the longest in championship history because it lasted for over six years. He successfully defended the title throughout this time against a variety of rivals, emerging as a popular and respected champion.

Bruno Sammartino

Born in Italy on October 6, 1935, professional wrestler Bruno Sammartino rose to fame as one of the sport’s recognized and respected superstars. Bruno is regarded as one of the all-time greatest professional wrestlers. Bruno’s most notable achievement came in 1963 when he won the WWWF (now WWE) World Heavyweight Championship, which marked the beginning of the longest single reign in the history of professional wrestling. Sammartino held the championship for a staggering total of 11 years, spanning two reigns (1963-1971 and 1973-1977). Bruno was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.
