Following a distraction from Scarlett, Karrion Kross crushed a former champion tonight on SmackDown. For a few weeks now, Kross and AJ Styles have been engaged in conflict. In their first meeting, which took place before Night of Champions, Styles emerged victorious. After that match, there was a mixed tag match, and Kross and Scarlett won it. When Kross attacked The O.C. During AJ Styles’ United States Title Invitational match, he demonstrated that this feud was far from over despite the score being tied at 1.
Karrion Kross’ duel with “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson of The OC on Friday added fuel to the fire between him and AJ Styles. Anderson’s offensive potential was curtailed by Kross, who finished him off quickly and effectively. The encounter served as a further warning to Styles in a feud that has yet to exhibit the chemistry one might expect from the participants. That is a criticism of the creative crew, who have failed to determine what it was about the Kross character that previously made him one of the more compelling ones in the entire WWE. He will still have trouble making sense of WWE television consistently until that changes.

Karl Anderson missed last week’s game as a result of the attack. Anderson got the chance to exact revenge on Kross tonight on the blue brand. He told his O.C. stablemates before the match that he intended to compete alone in this match. During the contest, Karl Anderson surprised Kross by charging in with all of his might. Scarlett grabbed Anderson’s leg, though, to divert him. Karrion Kross subsequently defeated Anderson with the winning prayer as the tides began to swing in his favor.
Karrion Kross locked the Kross jacket on Anderson after the match and didn’t let go until The O.C. arrived at the ring. Following tonight’s assault, this will simply serve to fuel the flames.
