One of the most heated rivalry in the recent decade was between John Cena and CM Punk. In 2011, Punk was given the opportunity to flourish as a top heel. He had won the World Heavyweight Championship three times, but his reigns were largely worthless. In addition, his rivalry with Cena brought out the best in both men.
The rivalry reached its pinnacle in the summer of 2011, when Punk triumphed at Money in the Bank and SummerSlam in his birthplace of Chicago, and both men were crowned WWE Champions. Cena has again demonstrated his professionalism by elevating the Straight Edge superstar to main-event status.
