Is Goldberg returning soon? All details regarding his return

According to prior reports, an Israeli wrestling promoter called Gary Roif is interested in having Goldberg wrestle in his nation. Rick Bassman revealed in an interview with Haus of Wrestling (via Fightful) that not only is Goldberg in discussions to wrestle in Israel, but so is Sting.

Wrestling and MMA promoter Rick Bassman is said to be in talks with Bill Goldberg and his agent Barry Bloom about putting Goldberg’s retirement tour idea into action. Sting, Goldberg’s fellow WCW veteran, may possibly make an appearance. In an interview with “Haus of Wrestling,” Bassman teased the possibility of organizing a wrestling show in Jerusalem featuring significant performers.

“I’m actively in touch with Bill,” Bassman said. “I’m working on a date right now. I don’t promote much these days but every now and then, something fun comes up, and it’s worth diving into. So working on a date in Jerusalem, Israel for September of this year. And that would involve, potentially, both Goldberg and Sting.” Bassman stated he didn’t yet have clearance from AEW for Sting’s appearance, but it was something he was hopeful he would be able to work out soon.

Goldberg was said to have met with an overseas promoter to explore future performances during WWE’s WrestleMania weekend, although it’s unclear if this promoter was Bassman. Goldberg’s final fights were in WWE, and he supposedly had a handshake agreement with Vince McMahon for an official retirement match before McMahon stepped down as CEO last year. Despite the fact that McMahon has returned to the organization, it appears that the contract with Goldberg has fallen through, and he will search elsewhere for his retirement presentation.

Goldberg is angry with WWE for how his career ended

WCW’s biggest indigenous star and one of the most popular wrestlers of the 1990s was Bill Goldberg. The former NFL star dominated WCW with his 173-match winning run, which kept fans on their feet and prompted them to carry their own placards to venues to mark his victories. The match between Reigns and Goldberg took two years. And it did not let anyone down. Because Roman Reigns Goldberg’d Goldberg to become one of the luckiest and greatest superstars to pin the greatest of stars in pro-wrestling history.

On Monday, the WWE Hall of Famer spoke on 93.7 The Ticket and discussed Vince McMahon promised him a retirement match in exchange for agreeing to battle Roman Reigns at the 2022 Elimination Chamber. When questioned about current rumors concerning his free agency status, Goldberg responded:

I’ll stop the rumor mill right now. The reason why these rumors are out there is because Vince McMahon and I had a handshake understanding that after the Roman Reigns match, I would have a proper retirement match and that hasn’t come to fruition through them and so therefore, nobody puts a stamp on my career, nobody tells me when I’m done, period, end of story. And when somebody tells me that, I kind of like to fight against it. I like to do things my own way and I go out my own way and I certainly don’t go out under Roman Reigns three weeks after I have COVID and agreed to a match.”
