In contrast to the tumultuous dynamic of the wrestling beast, Dave Bautista is contently spending his life in the movie industry. Dave Bautista aka Batista, WWE wrestler turned actor known for his iconic MCU character, Drax The Destroyer has been one of the most favorite amongst moviegoers. At WrestleMania 35, he faced Triple H in his final bout, which he lost after putting up a valiant effort. Due to his dominance in the WWE, Bautista is a lock for the Hall of Fame. He has competed against some of the best wrestlers to ever step foot in the ring and is a multiple-time WWE Champion. His legendary matches with The Undertaker, Triple H, John Cena, and many others will never be forgotten.

‘It’s the perfect exit’

Given that The Animal is still in fantastic shape, many fans want him to join WWE once more. He feels very differently about making an in-ring return, though. Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he said that, like Drax the Destroyer’s character arc in the final Guardians of the Galaxy film, he would never go back and reverse the conclusion that the grand final fight versus Triple H gave him.

“It’s the perfect exit. We all had those perfect character arcs and such a storybook ending. I constantly relate it to the way I ended my wrestling career. I ended it on a storybook note. And I would never go back and tarnish that. And it’s the same with this.” Fans of Dave Bautista will sigh at that comment, but they can respect it anyway. It is fascinating to see how highly he values his accomplishments.

Failed Opportunity

WWE and Dave supporters have long desired to witness his final appearance in the ring. It was hinted that Bautista and Triple H would face off again in 2019 during the ‘Evolution’ group reunion, but no additional information was provided. When Bautista promised to return for a match following the popularity of the first Guardians of the Galaxy Movie, WWE had a chance to capitalize, but they were unable to do so.

Denied a comeback in the past ?

While the actor left WWE in 2014, he wanted to return for a match until the wrestling giant’s executive declined the offer. Dave Bautista discussed his desire to rejoin the WWE during the MLW podcast “The Writer’s Room” and how Triple H and Stephanie McMahon turned him down. Around the time that GOTG was released in 2014, Bautista intended to compete in the Summerslam Pay-Per-View event once more. To Triple H and Stephanie, he added, “Wouldn’t it be great if I was back and I was also in the #1 movie in the world?”

Dave Bautista claims they mocked him and playfully declined his offer, saying, “We don’t even know if the movie’s gonna to be good,” dismissing his acting ability. The film received positive reviews as well as nearly $700 million at the box office. “It was a very awkward moment when they were just kind of disbelieving me and laughing in my face,” the actor admitted.
