I don't get the credit for what I did in WrestleMania 27: The Miz

At WrestleMania 27, which took place on April 3, 2011, The Miz competed in the main event for the WWE Championship against John Cena. The match was a singles match with The Rock serving as the special guest host for the event. The Miz has been a part of WWE for the last 19 years. He recently spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard. Miz shared his thoughts on WrestleMania 27 and how he should the world during his match at WrestleMania 27. Miz also said that he doesn’t get enough credit for what he did.

Wrestlemania, I adore the triple threat that Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, and I presented in New Orleans. That, to me, was fantastic.

Obviously, the Internet Wrestling Community doesn’t really give me the authority or [credit] for what that match was and what we had to go through to get to it, but whenever you can main event WrestleMania, you should. I adore that match from WrestleMania 27, therefore. Even today, I still adore it. Nobody witnessed me kick out when I attacked Alex Riley with a briefcase and Cena hit me with his AA. Nobody ever saw me win that match.

At WrestleMania 27, you would have claimed “not a chance” if I had been the favorite to win that match. And I did, which is absurd. That one is constantly at the top.

My parents and my family got involved with the one I did with Shane McMahon at MetLife, so I love that one. My father was made fun of. People wouldn’t even describe me as extreme, but if you watch the match, the finish was also rather extreme. And when we did something, it was like, “Whoa, okay, here we go. Throughout the match, both The Miz and John Cena put on a competitive display, with several near falls and back-and-forth action. The Miz received assistance from his associate, Alex Riley, who interfered on his behalf.

In the closing moments of the match, The Rock, who had been involved in a feud with John Cena leading up to WrestleMania, made his presence felt. He hit Cena with a Rock Bottom, allowing The Miz to capitalize and pin Cena for the victory, successfully retaining the WWE Championship.

This outcome shocked many fans, as it marked The Miz’s first successful title defense at WrestleMania and solidified his status as a top heel (villainous) champion. The Miz’s victory over John Cena at WrestleMania 27 remains a significant moment in his career.
