Following a fantastic match, Rhodes finally fell short against the ‘Top Of The Table,’ putting his emotional quest for the WWE’s top title on hold for the time being as he prepares to launch a rivalry with ‘The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar. Rhodes earned his chance at WrestleMania by winning the Men’s Royal Rumble in January, which was his first in-ring appearance for the organization since a torn pectoral muscle necessitating surgery drove him off WWE screens in mid-2022.

‘The American Nightmare’ was fighting with Seth Rollins at the moment, and he was also his opponent when he made a surprise return to WWE at WrestleMania 38. While Rhodes may be disappointed with recent circumstances, he may take solace in the knowledge that he is about to reach an incredible WWE milestone.

The next match for Rhodes will be his 1500th for WWE, according to Twitter user @WrestleFeatures.

Cody Rhodes made his debut in 2007

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion made his main roster debut in 2007, shortly after his father, ‘The American Dream,’ Dusty Rhodes, was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame alongside his brother Dustin, best known to WWE fans as Goldust.

Originally, Rhodes was a member of the Legacy faction, which was commanded by Randy Orton and also included Ted Dibiase Jr. After a major event feud with Triple H and Shawn Michaels, the three would separate and fight in a triple-threat match at WrestleMania 26, which Orton would win.

Following that was a successful run as ‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes, which included a memorable rivalry with WWE Hall Of Famer Rey Mysterio and an Intercontinental Championship run.

Shortly after, Rhodes was recast as the cosmically inspired Stardust figure, a homage to his brother’s previous gimmick. The highlight would be a rivalry with actor Stephen Amell, but after Dusty Rhodes died in 2015, the future ‘American Nightmare’ made the audacious choice to request his release from WWE and build a reputation for himself elsewhere.

It would be a well-documented next several years for Rhodes, who would wrestle for NJPW and ROH before helping to start AEW and taking on the post of Executive Vice President.

He would win the company’s TNT Title three times before leaving in February 2022, and his return to WWE has seen him add to his massive amount of matches as he attempts to reach 1500.
