Consistency is the key to becoming a great wrestler and there is one wrestler who epitomises that word and he is Christian. Ever since his debut, he has maintained levels of consistency that are enviable and that has gone on to help him achieve greatness in the world of wrestling.

Christian started off as a great tag team wrestler, teaming with Edge during the Attitude Era and as a part of The Brood with Gangrel. They dominated the tag team division before splitting up for a singles career. Christian changed up his character, look and overall presentation to move forward on his own and boy has that worked out well.

Captain Charisma has had some great matches over the years with some great wrestlers. In this article, we will take a look at some of his best rivals.

Randy Orton

Perhaps the best and most memorable rivalry of Christian’s career was the one he had with Randy Orton. Captain Charisma won the World Championship for the first time in his career after defeating Alberto Del Rio at Extreme Rules only for the Viper to strike and end his title reign after a few days.

The two men had great chemistry that only improved when Christian turned heel. Their matches always provided great entertainment, with Christian proving he was a good main eventer for WWE.

Edge

Christian and Edge were a legendary tag team and had some great matches and title wins together as a team. They were however split up during the Invasion storyline. Christian’s jealousy saw him snap and attack Edge to join The Alliance. Two former best friends were now sworn enemies.

Christian then went on to win the Intercontinental title from Edge for the first time and it was a good move by the WWE. This feud saw both wrestlers benefit from the time working together, as Edge was a fan favourite and Christian was the dastardly heel who the crowds wanted to boo.

John Cena

The feud that Christian had with John Cena elevated him to great lengths as a singles superstar and helped him gain momentum with the fans. Christian delivered promos running down Cena during his WWE Championship reign ahead of the brand split draft and they were golden. The crowd totally liked what was being said and were completely sold.

After the draft, Cena moved to RAW and the two men finally confronted each other. The two men faced off in a triple threat along with Chris Jericho. Christian sadly didn’t get any matches of note after this with Cena, but his work on the mic made him a bigger star.
