A former WWE Champion who has made his way to Orlando, Florida, has his sights set on “NXT” Champion Bron Breakker. There has recently been an influx of main roster talent on “WWE NXT,” including Apollo Crews, former “NXT” Tag Team Champions Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, and Apollo Crews.

On this week’s “WWE NXT” broadcast, Breakker was giving an update when Jinder Mahal stopped him. Mahal and Breakker spat insults while being flanked by Indus Sher. Mahal then requested a battle against the title holder on the following week’s broadcast. Breakker has held the championship from April 2022, when he defeated former champion Dolph Ziggler on the “WWE Raw ” following WrestleMania. In September, at NXT Worlds Collide, he united the title with the WWE NXT UK Championship.

The Interruption

As Bron commenced the part by speaking to his upcoming rival Carmelo Hayes, Jinder Mahal and Indus Sher abruptly interrupted.  Jinder began by expressing his admiration for Bron for carrying NXT for a full year. He said that as a former WWE Champion, he was familiar with the strain that comes with holding the position of authority.

The following week, he then issued a challenge to Bron Breakker for an NXT Championship bout, which the latter accepted. Once that, Jinder said that Bron’s fans didn’t like him and that they won’t like him after he loses the following week.

Mahal admires Breakker

When he arrived at the ring, Mahal claimed he was impressed by what Breakker had accomplished, praising him the entire brand for carrying NXT for the previous 12 months. “But I know very well well the weight of the Title you carry on your shoulder. I also know the stress of the next challenger and the stress of defending your Championship. I understand the stress, the early mornings, the lifestyle that comes with being the Champ.”

“As a former WWE Champion to the current NXT Champion, is this the Title run you envisioned? Is this what you thought being Champion would be like,” Mahal asked. Breakker said, “You’re damn straight, what are you asking about!”

‘You either die a hero, or become the villain’

“For a year you have been NXT Champion, but you must be deaf to that pocket of fans who used to love you and that tune is changing just a little. You either die a hero, or become the villain. Breakker responded, “Fans can have their own opinion, and say whatever they want.” Mahal wasn’t buying that though, saying “That’s why I’m here, because of that comment. The fact that you can’t address what is happening around you. That the tides are changing. That’s why I’m challenging you to a match. Next week, for that NXT Championship.”

A simple guy

“That’s fine by me Jinder. I’m a simple guy. You don’t have to waste everyone’s time with the new 3-Man Band here. Who plays the guitar huh?” Indus Sher was livid at that remark, but Mahal held them back and took a big shot at the Champion.” exclaimed Bron. “Bron, these people don’t like you. I know why you said the 3MB comment because you want them to cheer you on,” Mahal said. “Once I’m done with you though, they won’t cheer for you. They won’t even like you. But it’s okay Bron, the Maharaja will.”

Mahal’s major upset at WWE Backlash

When Mahal annihilated Randy Orton at WWE Backlash in Rosemont, Illinois, in 2017, he shocked the world and held the WWE Championship for 170 days. Mahal told Breakker that his previous experience had better prepared him than the current champion for the athletic and media pressures of holding a brand’s main title. When he defeated Julius Creed at New Year’s Evil, Mahal was last seen on “NXT” programming.

In his 12th title defence during his 317-day reign, Breakker recently defended his belt against obnoxious challenger Grayson Waller in a Steel Cage Match at NXT Vengeance Day earlier this month. It was on that night that Mahal aligned himself with the Indus Sher tag team of Veer and Sanga. Mahal is a one-time WWE Champion and United States Champion.
