Ronda Rousey had to be pulled aside and talked to backstage on her second night back on the job after making her WWE debut a little over a week ago.

Of course, the Rowdy One made a comeback at this year’s Royal Rumble premium live event, entering the women’s Rumble match at #28 and winning the over-the-top-rope challenge with four eliminations.

The next night, Rousey returned to WWE Raw to confront long-time rival Becky Lynch, promising a WrestleMania 38 fight between Ronda and the Raw Women’s Champion. The former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion had to be spoken to backstage regarding her promo work on that night, according to Dave Meltzer on the newest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.

Some fans complained that Rousey’s promo wasn’t the smoothest, making it difficult to know if she was meant to be a heel or a babyface. Ronda is still furious and spiteful towards fans, according to Meltzer, for how they turned on her during her last time with the business.

Any concerns were apparently resolved following that backstage conversation, and the Olympian was noticeably better on the mic when she appeared on SmackDown four days later. Rousey was definitely in more of a babyface role there, high-fiving fans on her approach to attacking Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville, not only because her promo job was superior there.
