Torey James DeFalco was born on April 10, 1997. DeFalco is an outside hitter for Asseco Resovia and the US national volleyball team. He is an American professional volleyball player. He participated in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. DeFalco was raised by his family, who kept exotic animals, in Missouri. Torey and Gina TJ are his parents. His sister Teagan, a volleyball player for Grand Canyon University and a member of the US Beach U21 National Team in 2019, was one of six siblings who all played volleyball. At Grand Canyon University, his sister Teagan participated in U21 World Championship beach volleyball competitions At California State University, Long Beach, DeFalco played college volleyball for four years. He won the NCAA Championship twice (in 2018 and 2019) and advanced to the NCAA Final Four each of his four years at LBSU (2016–2019).
He was named AVCA Player of the Year twice (in 2017 and 2019), AVCA Newcomer of the Year once (in 2016), and AVCA First Team All-American four times (from 2016 to 2019). In addition to being named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team three times (in 2016, 2018, and 2019), he was named Most Outstanding Player of the 2019 NCAA Championships. DeFalco chose consumer affairs as her major. With the Italian team Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia, DeFalco signed his first professional volleyball contract in June 2019. He signed on with Indykpol Azs Olsztyn for the upcoming season, 2021–2022. He committed to Asseco Resovia in a contract for the 2022–2023 PlusLiga season. In June 2019, DeFalco signed his first professional volleyball contract and committed to Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia of Italy.
He agreed to play for Indykpol Azs Olsztyn in the 2021–2022 season. He signed a contract with Asseco Resovia to play in the PlusLiga in 2022–2023. DeFalco and teammate Kyle Ensing, both 24 years old, were the US team’s youngest players. TJ competed in beach volleyball at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games and the U19 World Championships. He played junior volleyball at The Huntington Beach Club. DeFalco won four medals, including two gold ones, at the USA Volleyball Boys Junior National Championships between 2011 and 2014. He won the Tournament MVP award in 2013 and 2014.
