Kévin Tillie was born on 2 November 1990. He is a professional volleyball player from France. In France’s Cagnes-sur-Mer, Tillie was born. His mother Caroline played at the professional and Olympic levels (as did his father Laurent), Killian, his younger brother, played on a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA and the Memphis Hustle of the G League. Killian’s older brother Kim played college basketball with the Utah Utes and currently plays professionally in Europe and with France. He comes from an athletic family.
Tillie made her senior French national team debut at the 2012 FIVB Volleyball World League, where the French team finished in seventh place, after making numerous appearances with the junior and youth national teams. While waiting for his immigration paperwork to be processed, Tillie began his college career at Thompson Rivers University in Canada for two years. He earned All-Canadian Team recognition with a kill average of 4 points and 41 per set. Tillie transferred to the University of California, Irvine Anteaters after finishing his paperwork to play for them in 2012 and 2013. UC Irvine’s back-to-back NCAA championship runs those two years would not have been possible without Tillie. Tillie received AVCA All-American recognition each of the two years.
Moved to the Polish club ZAKSA Kdzierzyn-Kole in 2015. The French national team, which he was a part of, won the 2015 European Championship on October 18, defeating Slovenia 3-0. He captured the title of 2016 Polish Champion on April 26, 2016, working with ZAKSA Kdzierzyn-Kole. He extended his contract through 2017 in May 2016. Tillie wanted to continue his career in PlusLiga despite having signed a contract with another Polish club, Jastrzbski Wgiel, in May 2017. Early in August 2017, despite having a contract with Jastrzbski Wgiel, Kevin Tillie informed the team of his intentions to join the Chinese league. The club applied to FIVB to prevent unprofessional situations where a player wants to void an already signed contract without prior fulfillment because they did not want to cancel their agreement.
