Alexandra Annelise Frantti was born on March 3, 1996. She is an outside hitter for the Italian Series A1 professional league Casalmaggiore and the American women’s national volleyball team. In Highland Park, Illinois, Kelly and Dan Frantti welcomed their first child, Alexandra Annelise. She was raised in Spring Grove, Illinois. While playing volleyball there, she graduated from Richmond Burton High School. She competed in club volleyball for Club Fusion, winning consecutive AAU championships and being named MVP in 2012. She committed to play volleyball at Penn State and was named the 2013 Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year. She was the second-ranked recruit out of high school in the country.
When Frantti was selected for the 25-player roster for the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Nations League tournament, she made her debut with the national team in May of that year. She led the team with 15 kills in her debut game for the national team against the Dominican Republic, helping them to a victory in the opening match. With 15 kills and 3 blocks, she had the most of any player in the victory over Poland. A couple of days later, she dominated Thailand, finishing with 27 points on 24 kills, two blocks, one ace, and 10 digs in a victory.
When Frantti was selected for the 2022 FIVB World Championship roster, she competed in her second significant international competition in just three months after making her national team debut. She began several matches in the preliminary pool round as an outside hitter, and she finished all three of those matches with the highest score on the floor. She recorded a team-high 14 points—13 kills and one service ace—in the opening match victory over Kazakhstan. She continued her strong play in the next match against Canada, leading all scorers with 15 points (14 kills and a block). The United States won again against Bulgaria in the following match. For the third straight match, Frantti again had the most points with 19, coming from 17 kills, a block, and an ace of service.
