Nimir Abdel-Aziz was born on 5 February 1992. He is a Dutch volleyball player who won the 2012 European League and competes for the Netherlands men’s national volleyball team. The parents of Nimir Abdel-Aziz are Ragaa and Adel Abdel Bari. He represents the Turkish club Halkbank at the professional club level. Dutch volleyball player Nimir Abdel-Aziz competes for Trentino Volley, an Italian club that won the 2012 European League gold medal, and the Netherlands men’s national team. 2011 saw Abdel Aziz play against Belgium for the Dutch national team. He defeated Turkey in the championship match to win the European League in 2012. In 1998, Nimir joined the Haaften Kwiek club and started playing volleyball. He later played for Sliedrecht Sport, AMJV-Martinus in Amstelveen, and Sportvereniging Dynamo.
2014 saw him join the Polish club Zaksa Kdzierzyn-Kole. After just a single season, he left this team in April 2015. In May 2015, he made a move to France and signed with Stade Poitevin Poitiers. Since 2017, he has been a member of Revivre Milano. When the Dutch national team played Belgium in 2011, Abdel-Aziz made his debut as the setter. After defeating Turkey in the championship game, he took home the 2012 European League trophy. At his club, Stade Poitevin Poitiers, Abdel-Aziz switched from being a setter to an opposite hitter in 2016. He has since kept up his volleyball career as an opposite for both clubs and the Dutch National Team.
Due to COVID-19, neither of the lined-up setters was able to participate in the pool play for Trentino Volley in the 2020–21 CEV Champions League, so he was forced to temporarily fill the setter position. Nimir Abdel-Aziz, an opposite spiker for the Netherlands, is currently in charge of the tournament’s scoring, attack, and service categories. His final preliminary performance included 162 points from 134 attacks, five blocks, and 21 aces. The Dutch scoring machine averages 20 points per game and has a 51.15 percent attack efficiency, which has helped his team win four games and stave off the possibility of relegation. One of the best opposite spikers in the world, Abdil-Aziz has consistently outperformed his competition.
