Eda Erdem was born on 22 June 1987. She is a Turkish professional volleyball player. She is the captain of both the national team and Fenerbahçe SK, where she currently plays. Eda started playing volleyball in 2000 with the junior squad at Beşiktaş. Eda didn’t start playing for Beşiktaş’s senior women’s team until she was 16 years old. She moved from Beşiktaş to Fenerbahçe in 2008 because they were a bigger team, and during her first season there, she helped the team win its first-ever national championship. As a member of the Beşiktaş team, she received the award for best middle blocker. However, the 2008–2009 championship was just her first team victory—the first of many.
Erdem Dündar was already regarded as one of the top young volleyball players in Europe when she joined Fenerbahçe. Before playing with Fenerbahçe in the 2008–2009 season, when they finished third, she competed in under-19 European tournaments.
