He took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where Brazil took home the silver medal.
Bruno won the World League and the Champions Cup in 2009 with the national team. He captured his first FIVB World Championship and his third World League victory a year later. In 2011, he won the Pan American and South American championships while placing second in the World League. Brazil took home the bronze at the FIVB World Cup a few months later. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the Brazilian national team won the silver medal once more.
Brazil won two gold medals at the South American Championship and the FIVB World Grand Champions Cup in 2013, and the country also placed second in the World League. The setter won silver in both the FIVB World League and the thrilling FIVB World Championship final against Poland to kick off the 2014 campaign. Brazil won the American Championship’s gold medal in 2015. Bruno was named the best setter of the competition at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, where Brazil defeated Italy to win the gold medal.
