Justine Wong-Orantes played indoor and beach volleyball for the University of Nebraska. Justine played in her first-ever match as a libero, and John Cook, the head coach of Nebraska, happened to be at the competition. She eventually agreed to play after she visited the campus after he saw potential in her and extended an invitation to her.
Justine has competed for the American national team since 2017, winning the bronze medal at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix and the Pan-American gold medal. She was added to the 18-player roster for the FIVB Volleyball Nations League competition in Rimini, Italy, in May 2021. Before the July Olympics in Tokyo, it was the only significant international event. As a result of her contribution to Team USA‘s third consecutive gold medal, she was named the competition’s top libero.
