The FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League 2023 is in its fifth iteration and has been underway since May 30th, heading towards its conclusion on July 16th, 2023. The final phase of this event, which takes place from July 12th to July 16th, will see eight teams, including the hosting country, the United States, alongside Poland, Turkey, China, Brazil, Italy, Japan, and Germany. All these teams will be vying for the trophy in the quarterfinals. The United States, Turkey, and Brazil have all reached the final phase in all previous editions. On the other hand, Germany is debuting in this stage of the competition, while all other nations have had at least a single appearance in the final eight.

The second quarter-final will see the United States of America (USA) facing Japan on July 13 (IST) at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League 2023. The United States is aiming for its fourth VNL 2023 victory. The team’s consistent performance has landed them in the final stage on five occasions in a row. On the other hand, Japan has made it to the VNL Finals (knockout stage) for the third consecutive time, even though they didn’t secure a spot on the podium last year. After claiming ten wins in the preliminary round, the United States secured second place behind Poland. While Japan ranked seventh with seven wins in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League 2023.
