The Women's World Championship 2022 which is hosted in the Netherlands and Poland this year will take place from 23rd September to 15th October.
Croatia will be looking to end their losing run in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2022 when they take on Turkey. Both sides will be going up against each other on Thursday and the match will see Turkey as the slight favourites. Croatia have played three games till now in the competition and lost them all, while Turkey won two and lost the other in the narrowest of margins. Turkey came up against Thailand in an interesting opening match. There was not much to separate the two sides and it was clearly visible with the way the game unfolded. The Asian country prevailed 3-2 in the end. Turkey bounced back from the setback to get the first win of the tournament against South Korea before edging past the Dominican Republic 3-2 in a thriller. Meanwhile, Croatia took on co-hosts Poland on the opening day of the tournament before losing the game 3-1. They then went on to suffer further defeats against the Dominican Republic and Thailand.

The 24-team tournament will run from September 23 through October 15. The teams are split up into four groups of six teams each, and they compete in a round-robin format. Each pool’s top four teams advance to the second round and the 16 teams are divided into two pools of eight nations. The countries coming from the same first-round pool only play against opponents from a different first-round pool. Each pool’s top four teams compete in a quarterfinal round, with the winners moving on to the semifinals. The World Championship trophy will be up for grabs for the last-four victorious teams, while the third-place match pits the losers against each other.
