The fifth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League got underway on May 30, 2023, and is set to reach its finale on July 16, 2023. Arlington, Texas, is geared up to host the concluding phase of the tournament, while the opening pool games (numbered 1 through 6) have been scattered across different cities worldwide such as Bangkok, Nagoya, Hong Kong, Brasilia, and Antalya. The format of the tournament remains unaltered from the previous year, featuring 16 teams vying for the top spot over the course of 104 matches.

In the initial phase spanning three weeks, each team locks horns in no less than 12 matches against a range of competitors of varying rankings. The leading eight teams in terms of points gathered at the end of this stretch, earn their place in the decisive finals. This concluding stage is divided into the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the title match. It’s important to note that the nation hosting the event is guaranteed a berth in this closing stage.

South Korea will be facing Croatia on June 17, 2023, (IST) at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League 2023. Both South Korea and Croatia have struggled to leave an impression in the women’s VNL 2023, having lost all the games that they have played. Since Croatia is a challenger team, the team has higher chances of losing its position from the Nations League and facing relegation. However, since both the teams are winless so far in the event, one of the teams will finally be able to open their account as they face each other on Saturday (IST).
