The CEV Men’s European Volleyball Championship 2023 is currently underway, taking place from August 28 to September 16, 2023. Italy, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Israel are co-hosting this year’s competition. From the initial 24 participating teams, 16 have made it through to the pre-quarter final stage and are vying for a coveted spot in the quarter-finals. The event also serves as a qualifier for the FIVB Men’s World Volleyball Championship 2025, with the top three finishers securing their places. It’s important to note that Italy already holds a ticket to the world championship as the current world titleholders.
Slovenia is all set to play Turkey in the Round of 16 match of the CEV Men’s European Volleyball Championship 2023. Slovenia proceeded to the pre-quarters through a sensational performance after topping the Pool B with five wins in five games. Meanwhile, Turkey finished fourth in Pool D with two wins and three losses. Both teams will battle it out for a place in the quarters to remain in contention for the World Championship 2025 berth.
