The FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League launched its fifth installment on May 30, 2023, and anticipates a thrilling conclusion on July 16, 2023. The finals will be held in Arlington, Texas. Before this, pool matches (from 1 to 6) are taking place in various international cities, including Bangkok, Nagoya, Hong Kong, Brasilia, and Antalya. The tournament maintains the same structure as the previous year (2022), with 16 teams competing in 104 matches. 

During the tournament’s initial three-week segment, all teams will be fighting diverse competition in 12 matches. The eight teams accumulating the highest number of points by the end of this period will secure their spots in the pivotal final phase. This last portion of the tournament is partitioned into quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final match. As the United States is conducting the final stage, the nation has acquired an automatic placement in the last eight, being the hosts.

As of now, Serbia has struggled to make an impact in the competition, losing five of their six matches. Thailand has just been able to claim one more win than the world champions as they have won two out of six games. As a result, Serbia will try their best to take full advantage from these remaining games.
