Poland and Thailand will be keen to continue their winning momentum in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2022 when the two sides face each other. Both sides started the tournament with a victory in their respective opening matches. While the manner in which they won their opener was contrasting, the winning start would have given them a lot of confidence. The tournament which is hosted in the Netherlands and Poland this year will take place from 23rd September to 15th October.
On the opening day, co-hosts Poland kickstarted the proceedings against a resilient Croatian side. In the end, Poland won the match 3-1 to make a winning start. Meanwhile, Thailand were up against Turkey on the very next day. There was not much to separate the two sides and it was evident with the way both sides played on that day. After a hard-fought battle, Thailand prevailed 3-2. As it stands, Poland are sitting second in Pool B with three points and Thailand are third with two points.

Each pool’s top four teams advance to the second round and the 16 teams are divided into two pools of eight nations. The countries coming from the same first-round pool only play against opponents from a different first-round pool. Each pool’s top four teams compete in a quarterfinal round, with the winners moving on to the semifinals.
