The Women's World Championship 2022 which is hosted in the Netherlands and Poland this year will take place from 23rd September to 15th October.
Poland will be keen to maintain their winning momentum in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2022 when they take on struggling South Korea. Both teams are enduring contrasting sets of results in the tournament till now. While the co-hosts have won both their matches in the competition in convincing fashion, the Asian nation have lost them both. The Women’s World Championship 2022 which is hosted in the Netherlands and Poland this year will take place from 23rd September to 15th October.
Co-hosts Poland were part of the opening day action when they kicked started the tournament by playing Croatia. Poland won the match 3-1 before winning again in their last game against Thailand (3-0). On the other hand, the journey has been quite tough for South Korea. After being beaten 3-0 in their opener against Dominican Republic, South Korea lost by the same margin in their last game against Turkey. As it stands, Poland are second in Pool B with six points, while South Korea are at the bottom with zero points to their name.

The 24-team tournament will run from September 23 through October 15. The teams are split up into four groups of six teams each, and they compete in a round-robin format. Each pool’s top four teams advance to the second round and the 16 teams are divided into two pools of eight nations. The countries coming from the same first-round pool only play against opponents from a different first-round pool. Each pool’s top four teams compete in a quarterfinal round, with the winners moving on to the semifinals. The World Championship trophy will be up for grabs for the last-four victorious teams, while the third-place match pits the losers against each other.
