The fifth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League got underway on June 6, 2023, and is set to wrap up on July 23, 2023. Ergo Arena in Gdańsk, Poland, is the chosen venue for the final eight games. The competition comprises 16 countries, divided into two categories: 10 core teams and 6 challenger teams, setting their sights on the coveted VNL 2023 award. Poland, being the host, has an automatic berth in the knockout stage. This arrangement implies that the 15 other teams must compete intensely for the seven remaining spots to make it to the ultimate eighth stage.

Japan has shown complete dominance throughout this season, claiming seven out of seven games in this edition, while Argentina has won five and lost two games in the 2023 edition of the VNL 2023 for men. In their last match, Japan clinched a win against Brazil, winning a nail-biting contest by 3-2, while Argentina won against Bulgaria comprehensively by 3-0.
