From August 2 to August 11, 2023, San Juan, Argentina, will host the 18th edition of the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship. This prestigious event, organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), will feature a total of 16 top teams across the globe in its knockout stages. These countries are Italy, Japan, Egypt, Colombia, Belgium, Slovenia, the United States, Puerto Rico, France, Mexico, South Korea, Argentina, Bulgaria, Brazil, Iran, and Serbia.

On August 9, 2023, Italy will take on Japan in a pre-quarter-final match at the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship 2023. With four wins in four matches, Italy stormed into the Round of 16 by topping its group (Pool D) at the championship. On the other hand, Japan finished fourth in the Pool B to place ahead of India and book their spot in the last 16 of the competition.
