The Men’s European Volleyball Championship 2023, jointly hosted by Italy, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Israel, is currently in progress, taking place from August 28 to September 16, 2023. While initially showcasing 24 teams, the contest now boasts four teams namely Poland, Slovenia, Italy, and France, who are aiming for the main title. The top three teams will grab spots in the FIVB Men’s World Volleyball Championship 2025. However, Italy’s position in the tournament is already secured as they are also the defending champions.

After a nail-biting victory against the Netherlands by 3-2, Italy reached the semi-final stage and will be battling for their eighth crown. Meanwhile, France secured a comprehensive triumph against Romania by 3-0 and stormed into the last four stage. The French side will aim for their second European title as they face Italy in the semis.
