In the epic final clash at the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship 2023, France will lock horns with Iran in the gold-medal match. Both France and Iran qualified for the ultimate championship match after getting the better of the United States and South Korea. France prevailed over the USA in a completely one-sided contest by 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-12), while Iran got past Korea by 3-1 (18-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-16).
Both France and Iran were dominant in their respective groups during the preliminary stage and topped the phases. Iran became the champions in the tournament on two occasions – first in 2007 and then after ten years, in 2017, and will be hoping to claim their third title this time. Meanwhile, France’s best finish in this event came in 2007 when they finished third and they will eye for their first-ever trophy at the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship 2023.
