The CEV Men’s European Volleyball Championship 2023 is currently underway from August 28 to September 16, 2023. Four countries – Italy, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Israel – are sharing hosting duties for the event. Out of the original 24 teams in the tournament, 16 have advanced to the round before the quarter-finals. They will be competing for a spot in the quarter-finals. The top three teams will earn a place in the CEV Men’s World Volleyball Championship 2025. However, Italy already has a spot in the championship as they are the reigning world champions.

France will lock horns with Bulgaria in the pre-quarter-final phase of the CEV Men’s EuroVolley 2023. France took the top spot in Pool D with four wins and one loss in five matches during the preliminary stage and reached the pre-quarter-final. Meanwhile, Bulgaria finished fourth in the Pool B and qualified for the pre-quarters phase. Both teams will battle it out for a place in the quarters to remain in contention for the World Championship 2025 berth.
