The 2023 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League, the fifth iteration, got underway on the 30th of May and is set to reach its end on the 16th of July, 2023. The city of Arlington in Texas will be the venue for the much-awaited finals, whereas the earlier matches spread across pools 1 to 6 are being played in various cities around the globe, such as Bangkok, Nagoya, Hong Kong, Brasilia, and Antalya. The competition’s structure this year is a similar version of what was observed in the previous year, boasting 16 teams that are set to compete in 104 matches.
As the tournament unfolds, each team will compete in at least 12 matches against teams with differing rankings. This phase lasts three weeks. The top eight teams that manage to amass the most points by the end of the first phase, will earn their tickets to the decisive finals. The final stage itself consists of the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the ultimate title match. In addition, it’s worth mentioning that the host nation enjoys the privilege of direct entry to this final stage.
