The fifth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League began its action yesterday. The Nations League is a yearly competition for international volleyball players. The tournament will take place from May 30 to July 16, 2023. The decisive round will be held in Arlington, Texas, in the United States, at College Park Centre. Four volleyball confederations’ top 16 nations will compete in the Women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL). It is one of the leading international indoor competitions put on by the FIVB, the organisation that governs the sport. There were some minor changes post which the final roster for the tournament was made. The changes resulted from the 2022 Nations League and the 2022 Challenger Cup. Australia was replaced by debutants Cuba in this edition.

Thursday will see Brazil and South Korea at the loggerheads in round 2. Brazil sits in the fifth position of the pool table after winning a considerable amount of games. On the other hand, South Korea will be needing a miracle to climb from the bottom of the table. The Asian team sits in the sixteenth position in the pool table. Brazil and South Korea met in last year’s Nations League. In the last encounter, the Brazilians run amok against their opponent. Brazil won that match 3-0. Brazil will look to continue their performance. On the other hand, the Koreans will have many tough questions to answer when they take the field against World No. 1.
