The fifth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League began its action yesterday. The Nations League is a yearly competition for international volleyball players. The tournament will take place from May 30 to July 16, 2023. The decisive round will be held in Arlington, Texas, in the United States, at College Park Centre. Four volleyball confederations’ top 16 nations will compete in the Women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL). There were some minor changes post which the final roster for the tournament was made. The changes resulted from the 2022 Nations League and the 2022 Challenger Cup. Australia was replaced by debutants Cuba in this edition.

Thursday will see Germany going head-to-head against Thailand in round 2. Both Germany and Thailand stand in the middle of the pool table. The two teams will look to climb the ladder now. Germany and Thailand last met in last year’s World Championship held after FIVB Nations League. In the last encounter, the Germans destroyed the Thai side fair and square. German won that match by 3-1. Germany will look to continue their performance. On the other hand, the Thai will enter the match with the vigour that they earned against Italy.
