Brazil have a tough assignment in hand when they come up against a strong Iran side in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2022 round-of-16 fixture. The South American nation will be the favourite on Tuesday night, nonetheless, the Middle Eastern country cannot be taken lightly. Despite being placed in a tricky group, Iran won two of their three group games to reach the knockout round. On the other hand, Brazil won all three of their group fixtures to force their way into the last-16 of the competition.

In the end, Brazil defeated Japan, Cuba and Qatar to finish at the top with eight points. On the other hand, Iran were placed in a challenging Pool F. Iran did well to beat Argentina and Egypt, however, they fell to the group leaders the Netherlands. Overall, Iran managed five points from three Pool F games.

The 24-team competition will take place from August 26th to September 11th. All of the teams are divided into six groups with each pool consisting of four teams. The group phase will last for six days, with each team playing once against their pool opponents. Following the completion of the schedule, 16 teams will be ascertained. It will have all six pool winners, runners-up, and the best four third-placed teams. They will proceed to the first round of elimination.
