Serbia will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2022 when they take on Argentina in a round-of-16 clash on Tuesday. The European nation will be heading into this game as the overwhelming favourite. They stormed into the knockout stage after winning all their group matches with relative ease. On the other hand, Argentina had to dig deep to book a knockout ticket. The tournament which is hosted in Poland and Slovenia this year will take place from 26th August to 11th September.
Placed in Pool A, Serbia were impressive right from the start. They won all their group matches 3-0 as Ukraine, Tunisia and Puerto Rico were of no match to them. In the end, Serbia managed nine points from three group games. On the other hand, Argentina were placed in a difficult Pool F. They lost their opening two games against Netherlands and Iran before edging past Egypt in their final group match. The South American country managed a total of four points from three games.

The 24-team competition will take place from August 26th to September 11th. All of the teams are divided into six groups with each pool consisting of four teams. The group phase will last for six days, with each team playing once against their pool opponents. Following the completion of the schedule, 16 teams will be ascertained. It will have all six pool winners, runners-up, and the best four third-placed teams. They will proceed to the first round of elimination.
