The Bengaluru Torpedoes Academy in India was officially recognised as a Volleyball Centre of Excellence. This decision came against the backdrop of the MOU signed between FIVB and Bengaluru Torpedoes last week.

Situated within the esteemed Padukone Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence, the Bengaluru Torpedoes Volleyball Academy will serve as a hub for promoting volleyball, further amplifying its development and outreach endeavours.

The MoU symbolises a shared dedication to cultivating talent, strengthening grassroots initiatives and enhancing the societal significance of volleyball regionally and globally.

This exciting news was first shared on the official handle of Bengaluru Torpedoes on X. One of the major positives of the joint MOU is that both the FIVB as well as Bengaluru Torpedos hope to germinate a sporting culture. This is possible through various activities like high-performance and grassroots activities, mass participation programs and a free and fair exchange of knowledge.

Both partners hope to achieve this through quality sports science and medical services with the added benefit of good coaching and judicious officiating. Indian volleyball has already received a major boost with the inception of the franchise-based volleyball competition, the Prime Volleyball League. Now, with the signing of this MOU, Indian volleyball looks more stable and sustainable than it has ever been in the recent times.
