In 2023, the Women’s U17 European Volleyball Championship will be held at the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) for the fourth time. From July 11 to July 22, 2023, the competition will be held in Serbia and Hungary. The two organizers received seeds in the opening pools. Pool I is for Serbia, and Pool 2 is for Hungary. The remaining 14 teams were drawn after they were divided into five cups according to their placement in the most recent European Ranking.

The second rounds of qualifying for the U17 European Championship in 2023 have been finished for both the men’s and women’s teams. Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania for the men, and Turkey, Serbia, and Greece for the women, are the Balkan countries that have qualified for the U17 European Championship Final Round of 2023. Before that, Serbia (the host) and Turkey in the women’s competition offered participation in the Final Round, which will take place in Serbia and Hungary as co-host countries from July 11 to July 22.

Format of the competition

It will be the first time there are 16 participants per gender. Twelve teams had previously participated in the semifinal rounds of the competition. The outcomes of four zonal association qualifiers, one for each gender, will decide the first four teams to ensure their presence in addition to the organizing nations. In both the men’s and women’s editions, Poland has already clinched the spots reserved for Eevza at the qualifying competitions held in December in Georgia and Latvia, respectively. In January, the qualifying events for the other three zonal associations will be organized. Wevza competitors will be hosted by Grunheide from January 4 through January 8 for the U17 women’s finals. Among them are the hosts, Germany, and Belgium, as well as England, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain.
