The FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League 2023, which began on June 6, 2023, is now in its third week with the Pool 5 and Pool competitions taking place in Anaheim, United States, and Pasay City in the Philippines. Three teams – Japan, the United States, and Poland have already qualified for the final stage. Japan and the USA have made it to the last eight, owing to nine and eight wins respectively in nine games. Meanwhile, Poland has qualified, being the host city for the knockout stage irrespective of which place they secure in the preliminaries. However, Poland too has done well in the competition as they are currently placed fifth in the team standings, with three games left to commence.

Based on the current performance, Argentina looks strong to secure a position for itself in the final stage. However, with Germany demolishing Bulgaria in their previous VNL 2023 game by 3-0, the match between the world-ranked eighth and seventeenth teams is expected to be a stiff competition.
